Cincinnati Preservation

🚨Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act has protected historic places for nearly 60 years by requiring federally funded projects to consider their impacts on historic resources while giving all communities a voice in the process.

This week, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is expected to vote on proposed regulatory changes that could significantly weaken the protections by limiting public participation and consultation.

These changes could take effect without an act of Congress.

Historic preservation and development are not opposing goals. For decades, Section 106 has helped create better projects through collaboration and balancing progress with the preservation of places that tell our nation's story.
