Scooters have become a major part of campus life and city transportation, but they also come with important safety considerations.

In fact, shared e-scooter riders took 58 million trips in U.S. and Canadian cities in 2025 alone, showing just how common this form of transportation has become, according to the National Association of City Transportation Officials.

Our final UC student video in our risk-management series takes a look at scooter safety on campus and reminds us that everyday risk management can be as simple as staying alert, following traffic rules, and making smart choices on the go.

Anita, Senior Risk Consultant with our RiskVersity team, recently completed a six-month interim engagement, stepping in as risk manager for a college in Texas during a sabbatical. During that time, she provided hands-on leadership, maintained continuity across key risk functions, and ensured nothing fell through the cracks.
