Cradle-to-career work is getting recognized for the impact it has on communities.
Work Shift's newsletter, The Job, just featured the StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network, highlighting how intermediary organizations like Growing Inland Achievement are drawing new attention — and investment — from foundations and state policymakers.
Growing Inland Achievement (GIA) is tackling a tough challenge in California's Inland Empire, where a fast-growing, diverse population of 4.7 million faces real barriers to economic mobility. Our Cradle to Career Network members like GIA are proof that when neighbors organize around a shared vision, real change follows.
The article also shines a light on how the Pathways Impact Fund catalyzed by StriveTogether is helping scale pathways to economic mobility, working with grantees like EmployIndy to connect schools, employers and students across regions.

💫 The StriveTogether team is made up of passionate changemakers working behind the scenes to connect, champion and support communities across the country. Each person plays a unique role in helping local partnerships strengthen outcomes for youth and families.
👋 Meet Katie Price, director of people experience at StriveTogether! Katie leads the design, ex*****on and continuous improvement of the organization's core talent practices, including talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, and career pathing. Katie's work strengthens employee engagement and fosters a culture that enables teams to support a national network of cradle-to-career partnerships working so that youth can thrive.
We asked Katie: What's one thing about your background or journey that shaped how you approach this work? Here's what she shared 👇
💬 "My background in public health most shaped how I approach this work. It trained me to think in systems, recognizing that lasting outcomes depend on coordinated, multi-level change rather than isolated fixes. That mindset aligns closely with StriveTogether's focus on transforming how communities work together so youth can thrive. Internally, that shows up in how I approach talent strategy — I'm less interested in one-off fixes and more focused on the underlying processes and systems that shape whether people can actually do their best work. My background in human-centered design and project management also keeps me focused on building practical solutions that are ultimately more inclusive and effective."
