New research from Tera suggests that tungsten may be less toxic than previously believed.

Based on newer animal studies from the National Toxicology Program and updated US EPA risk assessment methods, the review found that higher tungsten exposures may be tolerable and that low environmental exposures are unlikely to significantly increase cancer risk.

We're especially proud that TERA scientists Bernard Gadagbui and Michael Dourson helped author this important work, which could have significant implications for environmental cleanup standards and risk assessments at sites contaminated with tungsten.

While these recommendations have not yet been adopted by the US EPA, they provide a scientific foundation for re-evaluating current approaches and ensuring that public health decisions reflect the best available science. Read the full paper for more .
