DRAWING AS MINDFULNESS
Mondays | 7 - 9 pm
Rolling enrollment: Classes full through July 27!

Led by Brigid O’Kane

With all the chaos of surrounding life, it's easy to lose track of the little moments that make up the day.
In Drawing as Mindfulness, participants get to explore meditative concepts about mindfulness through the lens of drawing and visual organization.

This course is open to everyone, no matter their level of drawing experience, and for those who are open to participating in guided drawing experiences and friendly conversations about the crossovers between life and art.

For those interested, an additional note: this class resonates with the community, and classes tend to fill up fast. To reserve your spot in a future session, early registration is recommended.

VISITING ARTIST WORKSHOP

LINE FUNDAMENTALS: ETCHING ON COPPER WITH USE OF ÉCHOPPE with
KOICHI YAMAMOTO

August 14–16, 2026
Manifest Drawing Center | Cincinnati, Ohio
Final registration deadline: August 13

What can a single line do?

Join visiting artist Koichi Yamamoto at Manifest Drawing Center for an intensive three-day exploration of the expressive possibilities of line through copper plate intaglio printmaking.
Working with drypoint, etching, engraving, and the échoppe, you'll explore how changes in line quality, density, width, and direction can create value, volume, atmosphere, and visual meaning. Move between fast, gestural marks and slow, deliberate engraving while developing a deeper understanding of how the character of a line can transform an image.
Special attention will be given to the échoppe—a modified etching needle capable of producing lines that vary in width—alongside demonstrations of Chine-collé and à la poupée printing techniques.

Bring an existing project to develop further or begin something entirely new. This workshop is designed for printmakers looking to deepen their command of intaglio while expanding their technical and expressive vocabulary.

Space is limited. Register now to join us for three days of intensive, hands-on printmaking with one of today's leading contemporary printmakers.
