I came from a era of true stream hustling when it came to pushing music. Peep it 2006 The whole town would be dropping 🔥🔥🔥 but if them streaming numbers didn’t move.. you wasn’t bout it! And don’t let us find out u paid for your numbers oh nah that was a NONO! So when I say I push my music with zero promo I mean it! It is all strictly laboring work to make numbers bigger than a good majority of the ppl now a days that pay for streams.. 🤦♂️ word of mouth, chain messages to get folks to click, spamming folks with your content in emails. Man we would do the most! Writing our YouTube link in a toilet wall, saying something to provoke them to look into it and then end up hitting a stream for me, make a million flyers and just set em on cars it be a link and a big “?” And that would drive curiosity! I remember going to all the clubs and giving them the links to play our music from YouTube and having to convince them it was the only way to play our music so we can get paid. And I still do! Those were examples of how hard it was to get s**t going! I keep hearing “oh pay some promo..” but I can’t bring myself to do it I get very good numbers from listening to my own music and sending it out to ppl to hear, as well as full on hustling the game! I’m nobody but I know a lot of big name mfs and I didn’t get there by being quiet Hoping for a good amount of plays on the release day lol 😂 hoping won’t work it’s all about the commitment to how and what it takes to make your goals become reality! I’m glad I grew up from 1990 and started music in the very early 2000’s it was a time of transition into the computer age we was 14 coding MySpace to have bugs bunny on the back wall all shiny and smoking a blunt lol 😂 this is what I mean by we didn’t have services u can pay and magically the numbers go up. Honestly the way that sounds feels like maybe y’all can’t get true streams organically 🤷🏻I’m just sayyiiinnnn. Y’all know who’s paying that’s a fact! Lol

Should you pay for streams? Should you work hard and gain true followers for life? Or a bit of both? LETS GO!
