After hearing the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, the religious leaders attempt to trap Jesus with a politically charged question about paying taxes to Caesar. But Jesus exposes their hypocrisy, affirms the legitimacy of civil authority, and reminds them that while Caesar may claim a coin, God lays claim to the whole of our lives.

In the Parable of the Wicked Tenants (Luke 20:9–18), Jesus speaks plainly about rejection—how God’s messengers were repeatedly refused, and how even His beloved Son would be cast aside.
This is one of the last parables Christ will teach, and its warning is unmistakable. It is a declaration of accountability. How we respond to Him matters eternally.
