It’s National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (Sept. 15-21)! We’re celebrating our incredible rehab team at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center — occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists — who work alongside our care teams to help patients heal, regain independence and safely continue their recovery at home once discharged. Thank you for your compassion and dedication to our patients!

In remembrance of 9/11, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center's Emergency Department care team and others joined Councilmember Cesar Fernandez and the Office of Assemblymember David Alvarez in bringing breakfast burritos, donuts, cookies and coffee to the firefighters and EMTs of Chula Vista Fire Station No. 5 — just minutes from the hospital.

It was a meaningful way to connect and show gratitude for all that the Chula Vista Fire Department does for the City of Chula Vista and its residents.

First responders are a vital part of our community’s network of care — frequently working together to bring people in need of emergency care to our hospital. Special thanks to Seven Mile Casino for inviting us to participate in this annual program.
