The Common Myrtle (Myrtus communis ) doesn't always get a lot of love in bonsai but it's another story when it's blooming. Thought it would be nice to share some photos from a very old tree from a friend currently sitting in our garden. White puffs and blooms cover most of the tree. Hope everyone is having a great day!

🌿 Hands-On Bonsai Styling Workshop with Jason Chan with the Southern Breeze Tree and Stone Society

Join us on Saturday, June 13th for an interactive bonsai styling workshop at the Huntington Library! Rather than a traditional demonstration, this session is designed to be collaborative and hands-on. Jason Chan will bring a variety of bonsai material, and participants will work together in small groups to analyze, discuss, and style trees as a team.

We'll explore:
- Design aesthetics and bonsai principles
- How to evaluate and approach raw material
- Styling techniques and decision-making processes
- Different species, sizes, and design possibilities

Each group will have the opportunity to discuss ideas, develop a vision for their tree, and put those concepts into practice. Whether you're new to bonsai or have years of experience, this workshop is a great chance to learn by doing and see how others approach the same material.
