On July 29, 2023, held the Relief and Appointment ceremony where Sergeant Major Juan Gavilanes, relinquished his position as Recruiting Station Springfield Sergeant Major, to Sergeant Major Michael Perrault.
The Marines of RS Springfield wish Sergeant Major Gavilanes the best as he turns to the next chapter of his life along with his family, while also looking forward to the leadership, guidance, and wisdom that Sergeant Major Perrault will provide to the Marines as they continue to find America's best and brightest πΊπΈ

When a recruit first earns the title, they are handed an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor to signify that they are now Marines. This revered emblem is a representation that Marines can be called to fight in any clime and place.
