Ahh, the logic of German. Do you know the German words for these translations?

Not all regions of Germany observe the same public holidays.

In the predominantly Protestant north, Reformation Day (October 31) marks the day that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the All Saints Church in Wittenberg in 1517 and unwittingly ushered in changes that became known as the Protestant Reformation.

In Catholic regions of the south, All Saints' Day (November 1) honors all Christian saints and is a time for quiet reflection and prayer. Families often visit cemeteries to decorate graves with candles and flowers in remembrance of departed loved ones.

Neither of these holidays is recognized in Hessen and Berlin, where the majority of inhabitants are neither Catholic nor Protestant.
