Community is important to us at NorthStar, and we’re grateful to have recently supported two great local events in April.
Earlier this month, we sponsored Chico Brewfest at Patrick Ranch, an event that raises funds for local charities supporting veterans and the prevention of child abuse in Butte County.
We also supported the Growing Great Futures Farm to Fork Dinner benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley. The event helps fund their summer programs with provide local youth with mentorship, meals, educational opportunities, and a safe place to grow.
We appreciate the organizations, volunteers, and community members who make events like these possible. It’s always meaningful to support efforts that strengthen the place we call home.

This week, NorthStar’s survey team is out in the field completing a detailed survey of a regional water reservoir in the North State.
Our engineering group requested comprehensive information on the existing water pipe network, and there’s no better tool for that job than our NavVis VLX 3.
Featured here is PLS Tim Alldrin operating the VLX, navigating steep elevation changes and working through a complex pipe system. The VLX’s mobile mapping capabilities let us document every bend, grade break, and connection with precision, giving our engineering team the confidence they need for upcoming design work.

Last week our surveyors were working in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains, near Fall River, on a large boundary project. Pictured is our Party Chief Ron Young locating a Public Land Survey System stone monument.
Stone monuments are some of the earliest and most legally powerful physical markers in any retracement survey.
