Congratulations to Enloe Health’s Mother-Baby Education Center on winning the Program Innovation Award. The department was recognized during Enloe’s Spirit of Planetree Awards on June 11.

Enloe Health is highlighting patients and their bariatric surgery success stories thanks to Enloe Health Bariatric & Metabolic Services.

This month, we introduce Charlotte. She had her surgery in 2023 and has lost 110 pounds. Charlotte says her health journey began just at the right time and believes everything happened for a reason.

“I hem-hawed around about surgery for years. As most of us, I wish I had done it sooner. But, everything happens for a reason, and I believe my journey started at the exact time it was supposed to,” Charlotte said. “I truly believe that losing weight helped with an early diagnosis of breast cancer four months after VSG. Early detection is so important, and my health journey is continuing!”
