𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁

On July 10, 2026 shortly after 11am, the Chico Police Department received a call from the Hampton Inn and Suites on Springfield Dr. reporting a non-guest trespassing into one of their rooms, which had been opened for housekeeping. The individual locked himself in the room and refused to exit.

Officers arrived on scene and attempted to contact the occupant with no success. Around 12:30, the subject made a call to the front desk from inside the room and agreed to come out peacefully. At 12:37, Jerry Leu exited the room and was safely taken into custody without further incident.

43-year-old Jerry Leu was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail for the following violations:
• 602(O)(1) PC: Trespassing/refusing to leave (M)
• 148(A)(1) PC: Resisting arrest (M)

Law enforcement officers are currently on scene with a barricaded subject in the 1600 block of Springfield Dr.
