We just completed the first of two Chevy 5500 retrofits, and it turned out nice. This MTECH PolyTough™ body was first built and put into service back in 2011, and has since been on several chassis - all Ford F-550s. The subframe and body transferred to the Chevy with minimal modifications, and now the AIG Insurance Wildfire Protection Unit has a new engine in their fleet! This truck features a TOMAR Electronics Inc. light bar, custom MTECH center console, 400-gallon skid with WATERAX Striker 2 pump, and the QTAC Fire RPD-18 PHOS-CHECK® proportioning system.
