I'm so sad but not surprised. The last time I walked into JoAnn Fabrics it was quite bare. 61 California locations expected to close, including the one in Chico.

List: Joann closing dozens of California stores, including some in Sacramento region Joann plans to close over half of its U.S. stores after filing for bankruptcy.

2024 is proving to be a busy year and not much time for sewing or crafts. I moved locations and the sewing nook remains packed. Much time has been spent in my yard transplanting my potted plants to a permanent location in the garden; however, from time to time I will find a series to watch in the evening and will breakout my needlework. My current project is a cross stitch I started at the beginning of the year. It just might be finished by Christmas to hang on the wall. I'm on my last owl of five, then some outline work, finishing, and framing. 😊

So true. It's time I bust through some of my stash! Cheers to 2024 being Someday! 😁🤞

TBT - 1997, the sewing nook begins its 11 year run located downtown Chico (a.k.a. A Stitch in Time). I made both the window valance and the jumper I'm wearing. The valance is out of sage green damask and trimmed it with 3" fringe. The pattern I used was McCalls 8142, view C; however, I added fabric tabs instead of metal clips to hang it from the curtain rod. The jumper, I made from McCalls 2244, view D. This was one of my favorite jumpers. The fabric I used was a medium weight textured rayon in a chocolate brown color. The buttons I found from Hart's Fabric's tub of One Cent buttons (the buttons cost a penny each) . Does anyone remember Hart's Fabric? They had several locations in Northern California.
