Sometimes I forget that I’m also a math teacher…I remember when I first wanted to teach, I had my heart *set* on being a middle school French teacher (can you even imagine??). I was a substitute teacher for a few years while I went back to school, and I taught all grades and subjects K-12 in Cicero, Elmwood Park, and River Forest.

The first time I substituted in River Forest SD90 was in Mr. Kadlec’s middle school science class at Roosevelt. I knew I wanted to be there; so much so that I took one of the world’s original selfies, standing in front of the empty classroom, with the first camera phone, grinning like a freak who had no idea what kind of adventure she was about to go on.

But after I substituted in Kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary, I knew Kindergarten was the best.

And it still really is! I love teaching my K-1 math class, Get Your Facts Straight. It was original math class of the collection of classes I created. It’s been running 3x weekly since summer 2020- sometimes with several sections of six learners; sometimes with just one. But it runs year-round, regardless.

Here’s a nice review that I received this week, and it makes me so happy because I love those kids.❤️
