MZI Group is thrilled to be on the ground at the Windy City Smokeout today as the 2026 festival officially kicks off! 🎸🔥

When you have about 20,000 fans pouring into the United Center lots each day for five days of country music and world-class BBQ, the network load is massive. Sharing those memories? Non-negotiable. Keeping the vendors connected? Mission critical.

We were thrilled to have some of our summer interns on the ground with us today, getting an up-close look at how temporary connectivity infrastructure comes to life. From scissor lift COW deployment to generator setup and load testing, our MZI team walked them through every step of the operation showing them that behind every great event is a team of skilled professionals making the magic happen.

That’s why our crews worked around the clock to deploy scissor lift Cell on Wheels (COW) a high-capacity portable solution engineered to deliver the reliable LTE coverage this event demands. From the main stage to the brisket line, we’ve got the grounds covered.

This seamless deployment wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise of our subsidiary, Fulton Specialty Services LLC. From power generation and generator hookup to on-the-ground logistics and field support, Fulton ensured this temporary tower had uninterrupted uptime from setup through the final encore. Together, we turned a parking lot into a fully connected festival experience!

As we get ready to celebrate our nation's 250th year of independence, we want to take a moment to remind everyone to keep safety top of mind. Whether you're firing up the grill, enjoying fireworks, or spending time outdoors with family and friends, a little caution goes a long way in making sure the holiday stays fun for everyone. Here are a few quick reminders to keep you and your loved ones safe:

🔥 Grill Smart – Keep propane and charcoal grills outdoors and away from structures. Never leave them unattended.
🧨 Fireworks Safety – Leave the big shows to the professionals when possible. If using consumer fireworks, light them in open areas away from people and homes, and always have a bucket of water ready.
☀️ Beat the Heat – Hydrate often, seek shade, and recognize the signs of heat exhaustion. Don't let the summer sun catch you off guard.
