Community Family Centers - "Meet The Lone Ranger" (Partial Commercial, 1976)
50 Years Ago Today:
Here's a really old (and unfortunately incomplete) commercial for Community stores featuring a promotion at the end for a live event where you could come out and meet the original Lone Ranger - Clayton Moore in person, on June 19, 1976! Pretty cool. (this was before the famous lawsuit that tried to prevent Clayton Moore from wearing the mask)
"The Lone Ranger Rides Again - Wild West Days at Community"
Voice over by Al Parker.
This aired on June 17, 1976.
National Pork Producers Council - "Pork: The Other Meat Slogan" (Commercial, 1983)
43 Years Ago Today:
Here's a commercial for Pork brought to you by the National Pork Producers Council featuring their slogan, "America, You're Leaning on Pork" (meant to emphasize the lean and non-fatty quality of the meat)
"Leaning on pork" - so would that be a pork shoulder?
This was before the more popular "Pork: The Other White Meat" slogan. Other short-lived advertising campaigns for pork included:
"There's Only One Pork" (confusing to consumers who thought they were running out)
"Didja Ever Notice that Work and Pork Don't Rhyme?"
"Be Pork. Be Very Pork"
"Wouldn't it Be Nice To Drink a Bowl of Pork?"
"Pork: You're Soaking In It"
"Pooooooooorrrrkkkkk....Come out to PLAaaayyyyy...."
"Whatever it is I think I see, becomes a piece of pork to me."
This aired June 16, 1983.
