October has been a season of crisp mornings turning into packed afternoons.

I’ve been helping clients get their home ready to list before the holidays, which has meant everything from late-night paperwork to swapping out summer porch flowers for mums.

At the same time, I’ve been touring Lincoln Park with buyers who are hoping to be in their new place by the new year (one even brought their kids along to “test out” the backyard).

Behind the scenes, my camera roll is full of staging photos, curb appeal shots, and sneak peeks of listings that are almost ready to hit the market.

And yes, there’s been plenty of coffee runs and fall treats from in the mix.

Real estate in October is a blend of cozy and chaotic. And that’s exactly why I love it!

People are moving to Chicago right now for a lot of reasons and while I might be biased as a Chicago real estate agent, I get it.

On the practical side, you can snag more square footage for the same budget compared to coastal markets, and recent rate shifts are making this market worth paying attention to.

But here’s the part you can’t put on a spreadsheet: lingering over brunch at Summer House before heading to a Cubs game, taking a jog along the lakefront trails for a midday reset, or being greeted by name when you stop into your neighborhood coffee shop.

That’s the thing about Chicago. You might come here for the job, the price, or the house, but you stay because life here just feels… easier.
