YESTERDAY'S POT CLASS
(The recap is below. Since our instructor is the most copied floor trader in the education world, we thought we would post last night's class so that our competition at least gets it right when they “borrow” our material.
A lot of people copy the Mona Lisa, but people still line up for the original.

90-Minutes
LIVE TRADING CLASS
Short butterfly hedged for $0.70 credit and free call spread.
The class was broken into three segments.
ONE – A short refresher course on reasons people are short the butterfly spread – residual positions, 0DTE hedges, deliberately selling for income, etc.
We then went into how to protect the butterfly in the final 10-minutes of trading via a call/call spread or put/put spread.
TWO – I put in an order to sell a butterfly at $1.90. With 17-minutes remaining I was filled. This sent me into action to place both a long call spread and long put spread. Instead of the long call spread, however, I sold a put spread to eliminate DAY TRADE rules for those who have that.
Below you can see that the two positions combined take the short all butterfly and short put spread and create a long call spread for a $0.70 credit. BOOM! What is sexier?
THREE – We then took 5-minutes at the close to demonstrate the TRADING CHECKLIST introduced on Monday.

Portfolio Hedging Questions
100-Minutes
With the market hitting SPX 7500 I was overwhelmed with questions about hedging a portfolio of stocks with indexes. We covered the process of hedging a portfolio via long put, or vertical. Then we compared selling calls in the equities vs an index and when one is better.
This was the best Reader's Digest version of putting a tourniquet on a portfolio of stocks. The MINI CLASS was a course on surgery and this was a course on being a paramedic in 100-minutes.
