Coeur Mining

The Nevada 95-80 Regional Development Authority is the regional development authority for the counties of Pershing and Humboldt, where the Coeur Rochester mine is located.

Representing its more than 30 years of economic and community development, position as Pershing County’s largest employer and North America’s largest open pit heap leach operation, Coeur Rochester served as the Silver Sponsor of this year’s event, hosted an exhibitor table and provided an overview of the expanded Rochester mine.

We are pleased to share that Megan Stone, an exploration geologist and member of Coeur Silvertip’s Mine Rescue team was recently chosen by Diamonds in the Rough, a Canadian-based organization that aims to raise the profile of women in the mining industry and advance the skill level necessary to provide emergency response services, to participate in an international mine rescue competition.

Megan spent a week at the West Virginia Extension Mine Rescue Training and then traveled to Columbia for the 13th International Mine Rescue competition, competing against 21 teams and placing third in the Female Task Force category!

Last month, Coeur Alaska contributed $50,000 to Renewable Juneau’s Alaska Carbon Reduction Fund, ACRF, to help offset emissions at the Kensington mine. Over the past four years, Coeur Alaska has contributed more than $200,000 to ACRF, contributing to the ACRF’s critical support of lower-income Juneau families to reduce their annual heating bill and heating emissions.

Our Coeur Wharf team welcomed students from the Western Dakota Technical College Welding and Fabrication Program for a site tour.

Coeur's Maintenance team hosted the students and faculty members, introducing them to the numerous and varied responsibilities of planned and unplanned maintenance that help keep the mine operating safely and efficiently.
