Emily reached a milestone today at Second Sense. Working with her braille instructor, Sharon, she has completed learning the entire braille alphabet! According to Sharon, Emily is always an enthusiastic student. She recently read an article about people in history who were blind and a very lengthy article called The Sewing Machine from her braille textbook. Emily can’t wait to read an entire book and will start with some children’s books. She has also received her Braille eReader with a refreshable braille display from the National Library Service so she can move on to entire novels someday! Congratulations, Emily—you put in a lot of hard work and it’s paying off!
