Time to introduce our 2026 summer interns! This year we’re excited to have Vera (left) and Robert (right), two bright and energetic minds, joining the team to lend their talents on a host of projects. Vera joins us after his third year at Cornell and Robert is pursuing his Masters at U of I. Between them, they have traveled the world, calling such places as Turkey, Venezuela, and South Africa home. This exposure has given them a well-rounded and expansive perspective on how architecture shapes the global environment. Welcome to OKW! // 📸:

On his way to the Mart, Anders was crossing the Chicago River on Orleans and looked east to our picture perfect city. With a hazy sun casting a warm glow on the green hues below, he had to take a quick snapshot. This photo was one of many taken during our annual Get Moving challenge, where we encourage everyone to enjoy the outdoors with walks to such places as Wolf Point. We voted on our favorite shots and civic pride pushed this one to the top. //

This is Allegro, a short-term condo project in Nashville’s Pie Town neighborhood. Our client asked us to plan this development, which is already an unusual typology, on a site with a 17-foot grade change. Our talented team got together and brought out the best in each other to deliver a thoughtful concept inspired by Nashville’s famous music scene. See the gilded fins? The patterned brickwork?
