Drawing from his years of experience as a Director and cinematographer as well as his landmark works The Cine Lens Manual and The Director’s Guide to Everything, Jay will guide attendees through the creative and analytical work of preproduction — exploring how choices in lenses, filtration, and camera systems can be harnessed not just technically, but expressively, in service of story. 🎬

This is not a gear seminar; it’s a conversation about how the most intentional filmmakers build a cohesive visual identity before the camera ever rolls. Whether you’re a director developing your eye, a cinematographer deepening your craft, or a writer considering how their words might be transformed into moving images, Script to Screen offers a rare opportunity to think seriously about the images that you make and why you make them.

Camera Ambassador is looking for volunteers to help run our VIP Lounge at the Midwest’s largest film & television expo, June 25–28 at CineCity Studios. Event prep, guest hospitality, bar and buffet support, activations — there’s a place for every kind of helper.
Every confirmed volunteer receives:

— $100 in gear credit for each day worked
— Food and drinks on shift
— An inside look at the show, and our community
