National Library Week is coming soon!

National Library Week, which takes place this year April 19-25, is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. This year’s theme is “Find Your Joy”—and we know very well the joy that can be found at the Edgewater Branch Library!

The Honorary Chair of this year’s National Library Week is Mychal Threets—also known as Mychal the Librarian. He’s an advocate for literacy, libraries and mental health and known for his upbeat viral videos. In 2025 PBS named Threets as the new host of Reading Rainbow.
