Let's be real, here's what it takes to cut a record! You ready? ⬇

Pre-production: This is the planning phase where the artist or band works on selecting songs, refining their musical ideas and creating demos. During this phase, they may also work on writing and arranging their songs.

Recording: Once the songs are selected and demoed, the recording phase begins. This involves recording the various instruments and vocals in a studio or home studio. In some cases, artists may choose to record live in a single take.

Mixing: After the recording phase is complete, the tracks are mixed to balance the sound and create a cohesive final product. This involves adjusting levels, panning, EQ and other effects.

Mastering: Once the mixing is complete, the final tracks are sent to a mastering engineer who will adjust the overall volume, EQ, and other aspects of the sound to create a polished final product.

Artwork and packaging: As the music is being produced, the artist or label works on designing artwork and packaging for the record. This includes cover art, liner notes, and other materials.

Distribution: Once the record is completed, it is distributed to stores, online platforms, and other channels for listeners to purchase and enjoy.

Promotion: To support the release, the artist or label may engage in various marketing and promotion efforts to increase awareness of the record, such as live performances, interviews, social media campaigns, and other strategies.
