For the fifth year, residents and team members from The Clare took to the South Branch of the Chicago River to participate in the annual Dragon Boat Race—a tradition dating back more than 2,000 years. 🚣♀️🐉
The Clare Crusaders team, led by Fitness Manager Kim Chalekian, brought together 20 residents and staff who paddled in unison to the beat of the drum at the front of the boat. Hosted by the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, this meaningful event supports literacy programs that expand access to learning opportunities across the city.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to cheer us on from the riverbanks! We are also grateful to CBS Chicago for highlighting this memorable experience and helping shine a light on an event that beautifully blends tradition, community, and a shared commitment to strengthening literacy programs throughout the Chicago area.
