Hey friends,

One of the side effects of a tough month was also a bit of a reading slump. Taking care of as much as you can but not remembering to include yourself in those considerations can be like that, right?

But we’re working through it- almost done with a personal pick (Cyber Mage), our Asian American 101 pick (Hijab Butch Blues), and about to dive into our Hey Neighbor selection (Pick A Color). I’ve also started some new audiobooks but those are understandably harder to take pictures of… so instead, enjoy some of the new stickers we have in stock 🤓

Anyway, treat yourself to a new book and some time to read today. It’s not a race. As long as you’re reading something- you’re doing the thing and we’re excited to be in this with you! And remember to take care of yourselves too 💛

This one is for our friends that enjoy horror stories, our graphic novel fans, and the joyful confluence at the center of that Venn diagram! We are so excited to host BOTH of here in the shop on Thursday, July 2nd to celebrate their newest release- CHAPLAIN (published by , )‼️

“Stalked by an ancient unrelenting horror, a weary hospital chaplain and his plucky young intern struggle to survive.”

Yep, sign us all the way up.

You’ll get a chance to hear from both Brad and Wesley talking about their art and their journey so far, ask some questions, and spend some time in community with us. There will also be some light refreshments 🤓

We will have copies of CHAPLAIN available for purchase during the event so you can get them signed before diving into the story 😎

More info at the link in our bio. This is a free event, but grabbing a free ticket from our website really does help us plan. Don’t be shy- it’s free and makes our event planning even better.

Hey friends,
Dad life called today, and I’m staying home with a pair of kiddos that are feeling under the weather. Sorry that we won’t be there to chat and get you some new books to read today, but parenting comes first.

I’ll be back in the shop tomorrow (Friday the 22nd). Don’t forget to get your free tickets to our Saturday event focused on young folks (but open to all) celebrating the birthdays of Yuri Kochiyama and El-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz/Malcolm X- linked in our bio!

Come through and help us clear these shelves Friday and Saturday!
