This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we pause to reflect, remember, and express our deepest gratitude.

In observance of Memorial Day, our office will be closed today. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday.

As TMA celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we’re proud to spotlight members like TMA Houston Chapter member Ye Hao, CFA, whose leadership and diverse perspectives continue to strengthen the turnaround and restructuring industry.

Hao reflects on how his engineering roots, cultural values, and industry experience shape his approach to complex business challenges:

"As an Asian professional in the turnaround and restructuring industry, my background has strongly influenced how I approach my work.

Coming from an engineering and energy background, I began my career in the oil and gas industry, where I developed an operational and financial understanding of businesses in capital-intensive and volatile environments. Transitioning into turnaround and restructuring allowed me to apply that experience to situations where companies face financial and operational challenges and need practical solutions. Growing up in a culture that values discipline, responsibility, and perseverance has shaped how I approach complex situations — staying patient during uncertainty, focusing on details, and working toward sustainable solutions. I believe diverse backgrounds and perspectives help us solve problems more effectively and ultimately achieve better outcomes for clients and their organizations."

TMA SoCal member Winston Mar of CR3 Partners recently joined 2026 TMA Global Chair Rachael Smiley, FBFK Law, for a conversation on distressed investing trends, turnaround strategies, and the value of building trusted professional relationships through TMA.

Winston shared insights on today’s market challenges, the importance of strong management teams, and why networking early in your career creates long-term professional opportunities.
