Still beaming from the experience of the ‘Last Whirlpool’ release & reunion shows. 🌈 Thanks to everyone who made it so joyous. Grateful to have swayed and sang with you and receive some important reminders on the magic of music…

🌀Shows are hard but worth it. The amount of admin alone it takes to do anything cool can be such a roadblock to creativity and existing with grace (and also why we stopped the band in 2017). But once the work is put in and you are on stage, it’s complete buoyancy. Major love to all of our brothers and sisters out there loading the proverbial van and proceeding to levitate for 45 minutes onstage.

🌀Music transcends time & space. So many people told us that they felt « transported », « transfixed », that they got to forget their daily bu****it and were able to dance freely into their past lives. Thanks for letting us be your conduit for a little while and letting us make you happy, and you’re welcome if we induced your labor with our song « Jewels in Aluminum ».

🌀Music is meant to be tasted and touched and bounced around a room, ideally with other people in it. In this fractured world, it’s up to all of us to not let our relationship with the sacrament of music be reduced to a single app. We must draw the line and refuse to let algorithmic suggestions or AI vomit steamroll this holy space.

🌀All this romance and turbulence went fast, as does all time here on the Whirlpool. As we sing in the first track, « we came together to come apart ». Don’t it always seem to go? Damn. 🌊

🍭We have some final merch items left over from the shows that you can currently grab on bandcamp: Last Whirlpool shirts (8 left), and some freshly found White Noise Bed vinyl! (9 left), and there is still some Last Whirlpool vinyl to be claimed (~20 left).
