Did you know August was Black Philanthropy Month?!!!

Black philanthropy makes an enormous difference in the lives of our people and our nation, and during these trying times, it is greatly needed!

Nonprofit organizations have reason to be optimistic as African Americans have become an increasingly important part of the philanthropic equation in the U.S. According to the U.S. Trust study, African Americans are almost twice as likely as whites to believe that large gifts can change the world or impact society for the better (25.5% vs. 14.2%). And of those surveyed, 41.8% of African American respondents said they planned to increase their charitable giving in the future, compared with 24.4% of white respondents.

As many of you know, one central thread throughout Desiree Tate's life was service – supporting and giving back to our communities – and we're here to carry out her legacy. Now, more than ever, initiatives and organizations need our help to continue their critical work in our city and across the country.

Though we're at the end of Black Philanthropy Month, here are some ways you can continue to stay involved and offer your support.
