As we begin a new Bar year, the CBA would like to recognize and thank our outgoing President, Judge Nichole C. Patton, for her leadership of our Association and her dedication to preparing our profession for the future.

Judge Patton, your leadership has helped the CBA continue to maintain the honor and dignity of the legal profession, foster relationships among members, and promote the administration of justice and the public good.

This year, you championed innovation, professionalism, and collaboration.

You convened the Coalition of Chicagoland Bar Associations, bringing together bar associations from across the Chicagoland area with a shared mission to defend the rule of law, support judicial independence, and strengthen our legal institutions.

You created the yearlong AI 2035 initiative, a groundbreaking effort to prepare lawyers for the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on the profession, which culminated in the three-day AI 2035: The Legal Profession & the Law Symposium.

You co-hosted the CLE Pageants, Professionalism, and Power: Unexpected Lessons for Lawyers from Pageantry, which explored how skills developed through pageantry—including public speaking, resilience, professionalism, and overcoming bias—translate to success in the legal profession.

You led a cohort of 70 judges, attorneys, and guests for a week of education, cultural exploration, and professional camaraderie in Greece for our annual CLE trip.

You proudly represented our Association at bar, legal, community, and philanthropic events throughout the year.
