Last weekend ONE Northside leaders and staff from across issue teams joined Chicago’s Trans Liberation March! This was a day of solidarity, joy, and POWER as we joined the march that kicked off from Haymarket House, and shared our message that trans rights means tax the rich!

This past weekend we trained over 40 amazing grassroots leaders in our Fundamentals of Organizing! These leaders got clear on power and self-interest and learned how to conduct effective and powerful one-on-ones. This was an amazing training, with open and engaged leaders of all ages and backgrounds, committed to doing the work and ready to build the power we need to defeat the billionaires and big corporations aligned against us.

Estos líderes adquirieron una visión clara sobre el poder y el interés propio, y aprendieron a llevar a cabo reuniones individuales efectivas y contundentes. Fue una capacitación increíble, con líderes abiertos y comprometidos de todas las edades y orígenes, decididos a hacer el trabajo y listos para construir el poder que necesitamos para derrotar a los multimillonarios y las grandes corporaciones que se han alineado en nuestra contra.

Taking on the Rich Is Possible. Our Illinois Coalition Won a Tax on Tech Giants. Our campaign won a digital advertising revenue tax that may generate over $1.1 billion annually for the state’s budget.

This morning the Protecting Renters Ordinance was introduced in City Council, and ONE Northside Housing Justice team members turned out to support this vital legislation, including Anthony J. Perkins who gave public comment on why we need this ordinance now!
