Expressions Challenge

🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨
After much consideration, Expressions by Walgreens will be taking a hiatus for the 2024 school year.
This decision was not made lightly, as we deeply value the incredible impact the program has had on students and communities over the years.
While Expressions is pausing, please know that our commitment to serving and engaging our communities remains strong. We are exploring new opportunities to continue supporting students and educators in meaningful ways. Stay tuned for updates as we look ahead to the future.

MOTIVATION MONDAY: Did I get better today?
- Kobe Bryant
What do you do to stay motivated and consistent?
Happy National Author’s Day!✍🏽 Today, we’re celebrating the power of words and the creativity of our student authors. 🌟 Here’s a beautiful slam poetry piece called SHOW US WHAT YOU HAVE DONE written and performed by Sasmitha Baskaran from Solon High School Let’s continue to support and inspire young voices as they craft the stories of tomorrow! 📖"As a high school senior who just took part in the college application process, she felt as though colleges never saw her for who she really was and was very discouraged. She hopes that this poem will inspire others to understand that they are more that just a number.
Did you know that students can enter previous projects into the Expressions Challenge? Encourage your students to hold onto their best pieces and submit them to the upcoming challenge in January!

It's WORLD MENTAL HEALH DAY 🎗️ đź§
Mental health affects all aspects of our lives, and taking care of it is just as important as physical health. It’s time to break the stigma and support one another on the path to wellness.
🧠Talk About It: Have conversations about mental health with friends, family, and colleagues.
🧠Seek Support: If you're struggling, reach out. Whether it's a friend, counselor, or support group, help is available.
🧠Check In: Ask others how they’re really doing. Sometimes, the simplest question can make the biggest difference.
Projected Mentality by Alicia H. from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School
I dedicate this painting to those who struggle with their mental health, to those who suffer in silence and live concealing their pain day by day. Above all, I devote this painting to one young soul who left the world too soon.
