Want to get your name and/or gender marker changed?! Live in Cook County? We will be on December 10, 2025 from 1pm-4pm and on December 17, 2025 from 1pm-4pm. Arrive by 4pm to receive assistance.

Please bring a photo ID and birth certificate if you have access to them. If you do not, we can assist you with getting them.

If you are seeking a name change and have any criminal convictions, please bring any information you may have about your case(s) with you. We will need to know information about your conviction(s) to be able to assist you with your name change.

If you would like to join our waitlist for our virtual assistance or if you live outside of Cook County, fill out an intake at tjlp.org/name-change-mobilization-1.

If you come in person, please be prepared to wait. This is a drop in space, and we are never sure how many people will attend. Bring a snack, book, friend, or something to keep you occupied while you wait.
