The Girl in the Mirror: Why Dressing for Yourself Matters More With Age ✨
I was listening to a podcast the other day that touched on a bittersweet reality: as women age, many of us start to let self-care slip down the priority list. Maybe it’s because the daily office routine is over, or simply because the body feels a bit more tired than it used to. Looking good often becomes the last priority.
But I’ve realized that this is exactly the stage where a little effort goes the longest way. 💄
It’s about shifting the focus. We aren't "performing" for the world anymore; we are honoring ourselves. Finding the colors that suit you and carrying yourself with pride isn't about vanity—it’s about presence.
When you look in the mirror, do it to feel good.
• If others compliment you, it’s a lovely bonus.
• If they don’t, that’s okay too.
You are finally dressing for an audience of one. 💃
As our bodies and skin tones gradually change, we shouldn't "give up." We should take out the best in us! So, look good, dress well, and when you see your reflection, smile. You’ll find that you feel much more confident and loved—not by anyone else, but by yourself, and that girl in the mirror. ❤️

Democracy in Soft Focus: My First Election Day in Guwahati 🗳️☁️
Just a few days ago, Guwahati was a whirlwind of color and sound. Women in stunning Mekhela Chadors marched through the streets, flags high—the beautiful, chaotic energy that only an Indian election brings.
But today, for my very first Election Day here, the city has done a complete 180.
The Vibe Check:
• The Silence: The honking and rallies have vanished. The roads are empty, grey ribbons.
• The Companions: It’s just me and the local stray dogs reclaiming the streets for a morning stroll.
• The Weather: Perfection. It’s cloudy, breezy, and comfortable—as if the sky is helping the city take a collective deep breath.
There’s something so poetic about how the loudest democracy in the world becomes the quietest on the day that matters most. 🕊️🐕
Have you ever seen the city this still?

Magic of a Morning Walk 🌸
I almost didn’t go today. A pulled muscle from lifting a simple plastic bucket had kept me indoors for a few days, but the Guwahati weather was just too perfect to resist—cool, breezy, and sun-drenched after yesterday’s rain.
I usually leave my phone behind to enjoy the silence, but today something told me to bring it along. I’m so glad I did.
While the hills were glowing green and the flowers were in full bloom, it was these two little souls who truly caught my eye. A young girl, little more than a child herself, was doing her absolute best to comfort her crying baby sister on her hip.
Looking at them brought a rush of memories. It made me think of the bond between sisters—how it starts with that simple, protective embrace and grows into something so deeply complicated and precious by the time we reach our 60s.
I asked her, "Can you turn around so I can see your lovely smile?" 📸
The moment she posed, the little one stopped crying and just stared at me in curiosity. I smiled, they smiled, and I walked away with a full heart.
It’s amazing how a short walk can remind you of the beauty in the world. These two definitely made my day! ☀️✨
