Spring Closet Cleaning 101-part 3: SHOES
If you have the room, store your shoes on shelves. I prefer grouping heels, flats and boots then sorting those by color. As photographed below, place each pair back to front. Not only can you see the toe and heel height of each pair, this also takes up less space allowing you to fit even more shoes.
If you don't have the space to shelve them, store in stackable plexiglass drawers or individual plastic bins with lids. Tape photos of the shoe on the outside of the holder so you know exactly what is in each drawer/bin.
As with your clothing, keep only in season shoes in your closet. Off season, store in a spare closet or large shoe bin under your bed. Before storing your winter shoes and boots look them over. If you notice white salt stains, rub the spots with a clean cloth and white vinegar. This will easily remove most salt stains.
