Each year on July 16th, we celebrate the life of Wendella's Matriarch, Lila H. Borgstrom, who was lost to Ovarian Cancer in January 2011. Lila was a caring and generous person who touched so many lives. In 2012, the M/V Lila was built to honor her.

On this day, 25% of all ticket sales will be donated to The Lila H. Borgstrom Foundation.

The Lila H. Borgstrom Foundation is a 50(c) (3) nonprofit organization whose fundraising efforts aim to benefit charitable and educational causes and create awareness of Ovarian Cancer.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Palumbo, a popular tour guide, proud army veteran and member of the Wendella family for the past 10 years.

Jack was a friend and mentor to everyone lucky enough to work with him. He had a gift for storytelling and bringing Chicago to life. His humor, passion, kindness and love for Chicago made every tour a special experience for his guests.

Fair winds and following seas, Jack. Thank you for your service, to our country, the city you loved and for the lasting impact he had on all your crewmates. You will be missed.
