Starting Sunday, June 7th, we are launching Scratch & Press: A Three-Part Youth Printmaking Series.

This three-week series is designed for curious, bold young makers who want to explore three completely different printmaking traditions—each with its own tools, materials, and magic. Over three consecutive Sunday mornings, students will dive deep into a new process each week:

▪️ Session 1 (June 7): Screen Printing – Mix custom ink colors, expose a photographic screen, and print your own wearable art starting with a studio apron.
▪️ Session 2 (June 14): Drypoint Etching – Learn the immediate and expressive art of scratching lines into a plate to pull velvety, rich intaglio prints.
▪️ Session 3 (June 21): Letterpress – Build heavily textured collages and experiment with hand-inking on a machine that shaped the modern world.

It’s the ultimate tactile sandbox for youth looking to build illustrations, tell a story, or just see exactly what our professional presses can do.

▪️ Sundays: June 7 – June 21 (3 weeks)
▪️ Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
▪️ Level: Perfect for young artists and beginners.

We have just a few spots left for our 3-week class, Relief Animation, starting this Thursday, June 4th!

This course explores the intersection of animation and relief printmaking. Instead of printing a traditional edition, you will carve and pull a sequence of unique prints that function as individual frames, then use Photoshop to transform them into looping GIFs. .

Bonus: Completing this course gets you fully authorized for independent relief printing in Open Studio! 🛠️
