Today, my staff and I wrap up 12 amazing years serving our wonderful community and the City of Chicago. It has been a great run and we thank you for your partnership and engagement in moving our community forward in a positive way. I’m signing off as your Alderman with a deep sense of pride for the work we have done together to improve our community and am incredibly grateful for the opportunity you gave me to serve the people and neighborhood I love.

For the last 12 years, I have been very fortunate to have Dan Luna working alongside me as my Chief of Staff. Dan’s leadership and collaborative, community-minded spirit has impacted every block in our neighborhood in a positive way.

I am excited to share about his transition to the role of Chief of Staff to Alderman-elect Bill Conway in the new 34th Ward. Dan will be helping Alderman-elect Conway start a new ward office in a newly created ward in the Downtown and West Loop area.

Dan’s experience in the 47th and 48th Wards make him uniquely qualified to take on this exciting new challenge. We know that he will be successful in his new role and we wish him and Alderman-elect Conway all the best!

Today, I met with Alderwoman-elect Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth to begin the transition of leadership in the 48th Ward. I look forward to working with her and her team to ensure a smooth transition!
