🚀💡 Future Innovators at Work
We are thrilled to highlight the impressive work our 10th-grade students have been doing with the Fray Matter Experience!
Recently, students participated in a “Shark Tank”-style pitch competition, where they combined product design, entrepreneurship, and social impact to present original business ideas to a panel of judges.
Their creativity was on full display with concepts ranging from futuristic to practical solutions, including:
👢 Rhythmic Footwear – boots designed to help the wearer dance with precision
📱 Relationship Tech – a concept that predicts possible relationship outcomes
🧦 Thermal Comfort Socks – high-tech socks engineered to stay permanently warm
👏 Congratulations to our winning team!
Their standout idea? A solar-powered, self-cleaning, self-drying towel — an innovative solution focused on sustainability and convenience.
But the learning didn’t stop there. Students also began exploring how entrepreneurship can drive social change, brainstorming ways to address systemic challenges like:
• gun violence
• homelessness
• financial instability
• discrimination
Our partners at Gray Matter Experience shared how impressed they were with the students’ engagement, creativity, and the maturity of their conversations.
If you see these students around campus, ask them about their business ideas and the community change they hope to create!

Embarc always engages our students in novel experiential learning opportunities! Check out one of their experiences with the Chicago Animal Care & Control. Our students learned how to care for sheltered animals.

🎓🩺 Real-World Learning in Action
Shoutout to our 12th grade students who recently participated in the STEAM & Dream: Healthcare to the Future session!
During this hands-on experience, students moved beyond career exploration and stepped into the role of healthcare professionals. Through patient case analysis and clinical simulations, they practiced the critical thinking and decision-making skills used in real healthcare settings.
Students learned to use diagnostic tools to monitor vital signs — including body temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rates — and built practical clinical skills such as wound management and bandaging techniques.
What stood out most was their engagement, curiosity, and commitment to mastering new skills.
If you see these students around campus, ask them about:
• the clinical tools they used
• the patient scenarios they analyzed
• how the experience shaped their healthcare career interests
Experiences like this are what Real World Learning at ChiTech is all about. 💡
