Hi everyone, Jessie here. I want to first and foremost say an unbelievable thank you to everyone that contributed to the gofundme and for each and every word of love and encouragement. The outpouring of support has been a humbling and unbelievable experience. I truly can’t express in words how much I appreciate the support. My loyal and amazing customers, which have felt more like friends over the years, my neighbors and my fellow small business owners have been nothing short of incredible. I know every dollar counts to us all and anything that has been lovingly given I’m blown away by. While I’m still in this bad dream navigating the logistics of such a tremendous life change the one and true silver lining I’ve felt is an undeniable human experience in love with you all. I am so very grateful. Community members have been reaching out about next steps and I feel hopeful about rebuilding this business to something better than I ever realized it could be. I want to be back planting flowers out front of my store in the summer, brining in armfuls of vintage finds to the store and saying hi to everyone as I do it all. This is only possible with the help and love from you all. As a community we can do anything with support from each other. As you are all here for me I am also here for you. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and will take everyone in my journey to rebuilding this life that I love ❤️

I feel so sad. There was a fire next door yesterday and the store is totaled. This business has been my life for the past 12 years. Anyone who owns a small business knows truly what that means. Mint was like a person and it feels like a death. With a very thankful heart everyone involved is ok which is truly the most important thing. Still, I’m so very sad. So much has gone into the past 12 years. I’ve looked at these walls at 4949 N Damen it feels like more than my own family and home. The store was absolutely beautiful. I loved what I did and I feel so heartbroken. Everyone was so kind and devastated in the neighborhood, all of your words meant so much in those moments. The cleaners next door, where the fire started, had been in business for 30 years. I have no idea what’s next.
