Johalla Projects

Johalla Projects is excited to share our work with Porter, a new residential space in Oak Park, which is in partnership with Focus. At Porter, we crafted a curatorial collection of Chicago based artworks diverse with a range of mediums, styles, volume and scale. In the Lobby, residents are greeted with work by Maria Burundarena, Claire Ashley, and Chad Kouri, and as they make their way to the second floor they encounter a paper piece by Sarah Leuctner and a photograph by Ryan Edmund.

Johalla is honored to partner with the Democratic National Convention Host Committee to assist them with a program where we partnered with CPS student Sarah Al-Shawabkeh of William Howard Taft High School, Grade 11 who produced a design that landed on a button, postcard, tickets and video screens. Organized by Johalla, Sarah’s work was selected as the winner of a competition of artwork submitted by Chicago high school students and reviewed by a panel of jurors. Her design incorporates Chicago’s iconic architecture and the four stars of the Chicago flag. Thank you to the for this opportunity!
