Odious Cellars goal is to create an ever-expanding archive of mixed-culture beers, and to celebrate the way in which beer mixes with cultures in other ways as well.

When one of our distributors brought in their samples, we instantly knew Odious Cellars belonged on our tap list. We're excited to bring in their products and showcase this brewery.

Odious Lore | The Gilded River: 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘳𝘪𝘴

A wide but shallow waterway abutting a center of commerce, the Gilded River is so named for the coins, valuables, and treasures which litter the riverbed just below the bows of the many passing vessels.

Local legend has it that Ra, gatekeeper between this world and the next, lives beneath the river and requires tribute for safe passage; the true deity that resides below the hulls is much older than that.

None dare dip a hand into the river to grasp at the vast wealth, despite its being easily within arm’s reach: greedy and dishonest travelers must be content merely to vow to the river that their tribute will be paid by the hapless boat immediately following their own.

Tears of Ra recalls just such a gambit as the deity below the golden riverbed reaches for its coin.

Into the Iris refers to a much bleaker tale. During the great Miasma, widespread poverty and hardship reduced travelers to paying tribute with paltry copper coins, old rusted heirlooms, and — eventually, consequentially — their very lives, turning the usually golden-colored riverbed a redder, grimmer hue.
