From Rail Hub to Revival: The Everlasting Charm of Dearborn Station
Our CXO, Eric Masi, recently shared some fascinating reflections about Dearborn Station (aka Polk Street Depot), and we couldn’t agree more.
Built in 1883, this historic landmark has seen it all—from heated debates about its location to hosting the Columbian Exposition and surviving world wars. It transformed from a bustling rail hub to a near-abandoned ghost town before its remarkable revival as a retail and cultural hotspot.
Now home to dance studios, schools, and spas, Dearborn Station is a testament to Chicago’s ability to reimagine and repurpose its iconic buildings, proving that the Loop’s vintage architecture can always find a fresh groove.
Thank you, Eric, for reminding us of the incredible stories our city holds!
