Production Rigging Supervisor
Chicago, IL – Full Time

Reed Rigging, one of the nation’s premier entertainment rigging companies, seeks experienced lead rigger to plan, design, and supervise temporary rigging installations. Candidate must possess advanced understanding of arena rigging procedures and must be able to pass ETCP Arena Rigger certification test. Experience with drafting in AutoCAD/Vectorworks required. Excellent pay and benefits.

What we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with designing and installing a wide range of simple to complex rigging projects. Our clients include lighting and production designers on large concert tours, corporate events, and tradeshows. Proven experience with entertainment automation hoist/control systems desirable.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Create project drawings, load calculations, equipment lists, etc.
• Proficiency with software including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Vectorworks
• Plan and coordinate all pre-show work
• Ability to supervise and carry out ex*****on of project onsite
• Communicate with shop to ensure proper equipment order fulfillment
• May require short-term travel

Reed Rigging is looking to expand its shop team with a Chain Hoist Service Technician. Experienced preferred but training could be provided to the right person.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our growing fleet of electric chain hoists by working with the service department team to:
Service and maintain Columbus McKinnon (CM) hoists
Perform periodic inspection and troubleshooting of Kinesys automation equipment
Repair Motion Laboratories power distribution and motor control equipment
Build new chain hoists as needed for sales customers
Operate chain hoist load test stand
Prepare, analyze, and document test results
Ensure compliance with industry performance standards and measurements

Skills and qualifications include:
Technical proficiency in mechanical service
Chain hoist maintenance and service
Operating automated test equipment
General technical service in related field
Proven track record of technical service experience and ability to troubleshoot
Columbus McKinnon (CM) Certified Hoist Technician
Willingness to work as a team with other technicians
Ability to problem solve and use critical thinking
Attention to detail
Safety oriented
