Weather PSA: It's taken a while , but the hot dome and the stormy 'ring of fire' border has been pushed out . Not by a strong and quick cold front , but a slower-moving low pressure system that brings relief with winds from the North and Northeast . We're still getting Northeast winds off the lake today ( Sunday , 7/5), so we'll have a cloudy morning and afternoon , with a slight chance of lake effect sprinkles . The cooler temps are here , and tonight we'll get drier air to drive the dew point down . The air conditioning will get a break today . For Monday , the start of great lake resort July weather we should have experienced for the holiday . Dry , Sunny , Low humidity , high temperature around 80. Tuesday , the same . We'll warm up a bit on Wednesday and be a bit more humid , but it won't be the steam bath weather we felt last week. We have another system for the end of the week and weekend that could bring a bit more stormy weather . We're getting into the deep summer pattern - great to good to ok but hot and sticky , then a storm or two . Repeat .

Weather PSA: Weather Fireworks/ Friday Night alfresco update ( 07/03 - 9 PM) - We're in the middle of a small thundershower , with more weather inbound from our W/SW . Not a great night for fireworks nor hanging out outdoors ..The bigger cluster of storms will hit in 45 minutes (ish) .. Expect rain for at least an hour or so afterwards . For tomorrow, similar to today , but the current timing expects the 'cold front' storms/squall line late afternoon ..so firework watching could be dry , and the heat and humidity will disappear for while...Stay dry .. pay attention to any severe weather warnings .. Happy almost 4th !!

Weather PSA: The 'heat dome' we've been under is starting to slide away . It won't be a quick nor stealthy exit, though. Today ( Thursday 7/2) , Still heat warning hot , but we could see some isolated thunderstorms during the day , more likely later tonight and into Friday . Storms nearby and overhead could bring the temps down temporarily . Friday , a bit less hot , and a higher chance of Thundershowers and Thunderstorms. Thunderstorms could be severe in terms of heavy downpours and strong winds , and the timing could impact holiday fireworks . The extreme temps will moderate to just plain summer hot . Saturday , pretty much the same as Friday - summer hot versus extreme , still humid , and chances of thunderstorms. We'll be on the border of the 'Ring of Fire" pattern both days . Sunday will be better for moderate summer temps , probably some lingering showers early in the day , but the cooler air will have gained a foothold . So , keep the heat precautions for the start of the Holiday weekend . Storms and rain won't linger - typical Summer hit and run .
