Young people are telling us exactly what they need.

“Chicago youth rely on out-of-school and community-based programs as safe spaces for connection, skill-building, and mentorship. Young people involved in out-of-school programs report higher optimism about their futures and greater aspirations for four-year college degrees.”

The first two weeks in a new job are often the most challenging, filled with hidden hurdles that can get in the way of success, like a phone bill, lack of WiFi access, state ID fees, work shoes, or even a fresh haircut.

That’s why, in our Keeping Grounded summer immersive work program, we build in support from day one, making sure young people have what they need before their first paycheck arrives.

By removing some of these small, practical barriers, they can show up prepared, confident, and ready to succeed from day one.
