Together with other international accompaniment and solidarity organizations in Colombia such as IAP, PBI, and SweFOR, we participated, at the invitation of Vivamos Humanos, in a space for presentation and dialogue with social leaders from 17 regions of the country who are part of the Humanitarian Coordinator.

We listened to human rights defenders share their concerns and fears regarding the serious risk situation they face while carrying out their work in the territory amid persistent threats, presence, and harassment by legal and illegal armed actors.

Additionally, we met with the Colombia Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to share contextual analyses and continue exploring actions to sustain the operating space for human rights defenders.

At Community Peacemaker Teams - Colombia, we believe that coordination between international and national organizations is a positive strategy to continue highlighting the importance of protection mechanisms such as international accompaniment and to keep promoting respect for and the effective implementation of International Humanitarian Law, in order to preserve human dignity and protect people not involved in the conflict within the territory.
